A God Of Tomorrow - A Public Letter

Why do we like to read books, novels, comics, any kind of literature or work that consists of protagonists and antagonists?

Why is it so easy for us to read tales of heroism, justice and righteousness when we cannot use the time spent on reading to commit these acts in reality?

It's one thing to be inspired by our heroes and another to witness but not aid in making the world a better place.

Here, at this blog, you've been reading stories of Humans and Demigods fighting for survival and what they believe is right. However, like everyone in the world, they only react when pushed over the limit.

Why do we only react when it's too late? Why do we not work together to fix problems?

Everyone has a different upbringing, be it fictional or not, our experiences make us who we are but when you think about it... what is it we all really want?

Whether you're poor or rich, everyone wants to be happy and healthy. No one has the same problems and some have it worse than others but it doesn't matter because personally, our problems will always feel the worst.

We live in a world where we believe good and evil exists but the ethics behind the ideas of good and evil are not as simple as black and white. Unfortunately, there is an endless supply of shades to both ends.

We believe being selfless and helping is a good thing. The idea is as much as a good thing as it is bad. How so? Well, one cannot dive into answering such a question without hitting several nerves. We, as a people, have much to go through on understanding what life is and the quality of living and our aim as a united race before we can tackle such questions.

So what can we do now? Buy us time. We live in a world which we dominate. Humans have claimed this 'sphere' in the middle of nowhere in a vast universe. This is our home. Now, unfortunately, I'd like to say that we all respect our homes but even I know a few people who treat their own property like trash. The point I'd like to come to is that we need to take care of Earth.

We walk the streets as if we have nannies following us, picking up everything we throw down. In the cities, this is true to some extent, but many of us still litter beyond the capacities of organisations that keep our streets clean.

One very big issue I'd like to also point out is that every age group litters. It doesn't matter if it's a young kid, teenager, middle-aged or senior, people litter.

I sometimes litter as well. I try to keep it to a minimum but it'll happen that I'll sometimes spit my chewing-gum out on the pavement. I strictly refrain myself from throwing a chocolate-bar wrapper or bottle. Those are like Class-A drugs. You simply do not throw those, and no, spitting gum isn't a gateway into littering bigger trash.

The worst kind of littering has to be the kind that is out at sea. First of all, if you're out at sea, you're obviously on a boat or ship so there has to be a civilised trash dump somewhere. The trash thrown into our oceans survive for an eternity, with your specific fingerprint on it. This automatically makes you evil... in everyone's book. There's no justification for harming the world that we live in.

The biggest problem of all is something all of us do daily. A couple of countries have really gotten strict with recycling. In Norway, for example, we have to put plastics into blue bags, food into a green bag, and general garbage into whatever uncategorised bag. Why? Because plastics can be reused and food can turn into energy or fertiliser.

To put it into a recognisable aspect, we must treat everything like we treat our water. Use it, make sure it goes back into the system, have it cleaned, reuse the water, repeat the process. Same with food and plastics.

We are very limited with our resources but we live like kings. You may not think so but we do. We drink water, eat food and create items or objects like as if we have an infinite supply but we honestly don't. To see "world-ending" results we'd have to live for a couple more centuries, and a lot of people will always give the responsibility onto others to take care of our earth but it's a very simple task to do so ourselves.

It isn't hard to sort your waste. It isn't hard to throw your trash into bins. It's more than easy to close your sink when you're not using it. The list can go on and on. There is never a justifiable reason to disrespect earth when it gives so much to us.

Be thankful everytime you drink water because one day it will become dirty.

Be thankful that your food isn't poisonous or infected.

Be thankful that we have clean air to breathe in.

Be thankful that there are enough trees, for now, to give us shelter, warmth and paper.

Be thankful that we have natural resources in which we can bend to our will to create things.

Be thankful for everything you are surrounded by.

Everything we hold dear can suddenly go away. Maybe not in our time... But it is an inevitable future if we carry on with the way we treat this world. You would hate those who lived before us if they were in our position and they gave you a world of chaos and desperation to live in.

We must respect our past, present and future.

A better, cleaner world is better for everyone, no matter who we are.

It doesn't matter if we are rich or poor or if we live in a one-room apartment or a mansion because we all live in the same world, drink the same water and breathe the same air.

Respect the past. Live in the present. Plan for the future.

Be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday.

Plan to be something greater tomorrow.

Become A God Of Tomorrow...

Because it really is that simple...
