Our Legacy - Episode 11

Keyla was separated from the rest when she quickly ran into a room and was met with a staircase that led down. The stairs were centuries old, made of stone, and felt dusty. She urged herself forward when the door she closed behind had suddenly frozen and was covered in ice. The frost followed her down as she descended. There were screams echoing in the fort. She sped up as the frost started catching up to her, turning the stairs behind her into a straight slope. There were more screams now and hearing them frightened her. She didn't have any idea of what was going on.

The frost finally caught up to her and she lost her footing and slipped. Keyla began to tumble down the stairs. She tried to fly up but kept on spinning. Her back hit the ceiling which helped her gain back some balance. She watched the frost turn everything into ice. It also blocked out the screams and made it very quiet. Her breath became visible as the temperature dropped. She hovered above the icy staircase and tried to listen to what was happening. All she could hear was a whistling sound and as time passed it grew louder and louder. She looked up to where she came from and started to fly towards the door.

The door came in to view but the whistling grew even louder and suddenly a strong current of wind blew towards her. Keyla was launched against the ceiling, smacking her head with a loud crack, and then towards the wall. The wind kept blowing and strong enough to slide her down the wall. She tried to fly against it but it was too strong. The stairs finally ended and she entered a dungeon of some sort which the frost was still freezing up. The wind stopped and Keyla landed with a loud thud against the stone floor. Her arms and legs were bruised and cut and the rest of her body was exhausted. She looked at her hands which were completely red. She suddenly remembered that she tried to hold on to the wall and ended up scraping it against the ice. The pain stung her as she tried to move her fingers.

Down in the dungeon, the screams were audible again. Keyla got up to her feet and explored the dungeon. There were cells and chains hanging from the ceiling. There was a wooden stool next to one of the cells. She quickly walked towards it to sit on and gain back her strength. The cuts on her arms slowly stopped bleeding. Her God Particle had kept her tough to withstand the beating. She counted herself lucky that she was still alive and breathing. After watching the lieutenant die within seconds and hearing his brother become lifeless after that crash, which shook the entire fort, she knew they were no match against the Necromancer.

Maha, on the other hand, was with two other Demigods. They were in a large dining room and cowering in the corner with Maha in front of both of them since she could shield them. They had no strategy should the Necromancer walk through the door at the other side of the room. There was suddenly an explosion in a nearby room on the same floor. The wall to the left of them blew open and Maha shielded up immediately, thinking it was the Necromancer. It was only large pieces of debris which continued across the dining room, over the long table, and crashed into the outside wall.

"We can escape!" said one of the Demigods, a Danish woman with dirty blond hair. "We can call for help!"

"They won't be helping us!" said the other Demigod, a man from Poland with short hair.

"We will only die if we stay here!"

"We're here to learn about the Necromancer!" he shouted, pulling her arm as she almost tried to make a run for it. "We stay here and fight together! Maybe then we'll have a chance!"

"He's too strong!" The woman yanked his hand off her arm and began to run to the hole in the wall. She leapt towards it, trying to get out immediately, but the part of the wall that had broken off suddenly came back and slammed into her. The Demigod flew to the other side of the room from the impact. The wall continued to rebuild itself until it was fully repaired. They were all shocked by what had happened. They knew the Necromancer was near.

The gap in the other wall was still there, leading into another room.

"We need to escape!" The Danish woman yelled. She started running into the hole. Maha looked at the Polish man and they eventually followed her right after but something stopped them dead in their tracks. The woman came flying back once more, hitting her back into the dining table and crashing right through it, splitting the table in half. The repaired wall stopped her journey, cracking from the impact. The Necromancer slowly stepped into the room, his hood still on, with his hands open at his sides, prepared to attack at any second. Maha quickly shielded herself and the man but the Necromancer ignored them and walked towards the Danish woman.

The Demigod stood up, scared and angry at the same time, and cast a ray of light against the Necromancer who deflected it with a small forcefield surrounding his one hand. He then repaid her the favour and dashed right up to her. The force of his speed pushed her back into the wall. He then followed up with a knee to her abdomen. She almost fell to the floor but he grabbed her neck and pushed her up against the wall, lifting her off her feet.

"You disrespect the gift you have." He sneered. The Polish Demigod ran to her defence, attempting to push the Necromancer with an invisible force. It almost looked comical when nothing happened. The Polish man simply stood there with his mouth open. The Necromancer turned his head to face him and extended his free arm towards him, choking him with his own invisible force. The Polish man was lifted off his feet and fighting for air. His legs were kicking and his hands were holding his own neck as if he was trying to pry off the fingers of a nonexistent hand.

The Necromancer twisted the hand that was aimed at him, breaking the neck of the Polish Demigod. He then turned his gaze back to the Danish women and physically squeezed her neck. Maha stood there like a statue as he let go of his hold on both Demigods who fell to the floor like rag dolls. He finally gave her attention. She still had her shield up. He smiled at her and suddenly dashed right next to her. He stuck out a finger and slowly began to touch the shield. It began to glow bright where he was touching, meaning he was applying an immense amount of pressure with just the finger. He then changed the angle of his finger, now applying pressure with his nail. Maha was hardly breathing, focusing her entire strength to keep the shield up. With a single downwards stroke, the Necromancer sliced open the shield and quickly grabbed her by the neck. She could feel her muscles bruising under his fingers. She was going to die.

Maha had tears in her eyes. She had to use her special ability. She was too scared to die. Focusing on just a few seconds in the past, she pulled back time to when the Necromancer still had his finger on the shield. She knew he was too powerful to launch him away with a shockwave so she was going to try something else. Maha relaxed her body and aimed her hands against the Necromancer and let out a powerful shockwave. Nothing happened to him but she launched herself towards the wall with the hole. He simply watched her and didn't pursue.

Maha landed inside a bedroom next to where two other Demigods were lying dead on the floor. There was blood all over the walls and bed. She looked at the Necromancer who only stared at her.

"You have the will to live. I like that. I will leave you to last." He whispered. He then did something unexpected. He stomped the ground and fell through it, disappearing from view.

Keyla screamed as the Necromancer suddenly appeared in front of her, crashing through the ceiling. He had his side to her but his head slowly turned to greet her.

"Hello." He said.
